Within Contexts: Arieh Sharon and Bauhaus Universalism

The concept of universalism in architecture and design generated at the Bauhaus is challenged and re-contextualized as I look to compare one of the school's students, Israeli architect Arieh Sharon of the early to mid 20th century, to this ideology. Educated at the Bauhaus and later practicing in Israel, Sharon's modernist influence outside of Germany and Europe begin to raise questions about universalism and cultural re-appropriation through architecture and planning.
